Blake Lodge, a mansion type house was purchased. It was then known as ‘Weston Lodge’. The name was changed to ‘Blake lodge’ in memory of Mr Bernard Blake whose legacy provided the purchase price. Mr Blake ran a plumbing and ironmongers’ business on Mutley Plain. He died in October 1949.
